About Us

The main driving force behind the establishment of St. Anne's Rehabilitation Centre

It was in the year 1981 at the age of 13 years old still a school going child(Anne Khasoa Isedia), I got raped and bore a baby boy in the following year. I had to drop school and care for the child in a very hash condition, rejection from people and also low self esteem. I later found a guy who we moved in together and I bore two more children with him. Life was had and we ended up separating in the year 1985. Being small with three children, I started living in the streets hustling to make ends meet. It continued like so for a period(1985 to 1992). God came through I found my current husband who was also raised by his grandparents after being born out of wedlock and left by his mother. We bore one child. He accepted my three children as his own. We raised them all together and we never wanted them to pass through what we had passed in our early life.

Having passed through rough hardships in life of rape being so young, not finishing my school, not being able to care for the children well, I had an idea of having a Centre where I can take care of the abandoned and less fortunate children in the society. We agreed with my husband that we can start a small feeding program that even led to the birth of St. Anne rehabilitation Centre. It was started in the year 1993. Funding the project was hard. Volunteers, the community, and well-wisher's donations helped a lot but it wasn't enough.

The aim was to care for the girl child and protect them from the hash society that might make them pass through what I personally passed through. It then grew to what it is today. It was also a concern that the children we were caring for who most of them we got from the streets we not being absorbed to any other school so we decided to build a Centre with its own school.  The school was then launched in 2006 where the pioneers have already finished school in the 12th grade. Most of them have not been able to finish their Tertiary education due to lack of funds.

There came a God sent man  in the year 2021 when the facility was condemned by the government to close down due to poor conditions and not being able to feed the present children. He has really help the Centre to where it is today. it still needs funding since the children who get out of school need to be supported so that they can join tertiary  education and become a person in the society.

Future Projections of the Centre

If one poor woman( Anne Khasoa Isedia) with no education can implement an idea of establishing a children's Centre from scratch to where it is today, a good and proper support can help the Centre to expand and be able to make a difference in the lives of many in the society.

At the moment the big issues faced by the Centre that are also the main Centre's Future Projection.
these are:

  • FUNDS - to help in developing various stalled projects that contributes to the Centre's growth

  • SCHOOL - the current school facility is not enough for the vast growing numbers of the children in the Centre and at the moment it is not suitable for use due to congestion of the children, worn-out roofing materials that leak when it rains.

  • COLLEGE - the children who finish their secondary education are not able to continue with their further studies since the colleges around and very expensive and they dont offer sponsorships. The children end up hocking to make ends meet.

  • LAND - the Centre needs enough land to be able to build various projects that contributes to its growth.

  • HOSPITAL - whenever there are people, a good health facility is required. The Centre projects to build a good, big well equipped Hospital that will be used by both the children, Elderly and also the society for profit making.

  • CHURCH - a refreshment of the spirit to nurture children and also the society at large in the ways of God.

  • CARE FACILITY - a home for the neglected Elderly, abandoned and abused children, rehabilitation for the drug addicts who die in the streets due lack of proper care.

With the right people and donors, all this can be achieved in no time. Any amount directed to the Centre will be of much value as we look forward to the accomplishment of the projections.

(PSALM 41:1-3)

Blessed is the one who considers the poor! In the day of trouble the LORD delivers him; the LORD protects him and keeps him alive; he is called blessed in the land; you do not give him up to the will of his enemies. The LORD sustains him on his sickbed; in his illness you restore him to full health.
